The Role: Junior Application Support Engineer
The Junior Application Support Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned campaigns, database support, and application functionality. The role exists to ensure accurate data handling, system availability, and optimal performance while providing timely support to internal and external stakeholders. Main focus areas include assisting the Database Administrator in maintaining database integrity and security, testing software functionality, managing data imports, and driving continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Apply preferred experience of 1+ years of SQL in a contact centre/BPO environment to support specialized business processes.
Configure and maintain scheduling and automation tools, checking SFTP drives daily for successful file transfers.
Manage daily data file imports, validating accuracy and resolving import errors with Business Analysts.
Assist the Database Administrator with database maintenance plans, ad-hoc backups, restores, recovery testing, and user permission management.
Analyse and optimise SQL queries and indexes to enhance database performance.
Extract data from SQL databases, compile reports in Excel, and present findings clearly to clients.
Test new functionality developed by Business Analysts to verify alignment with specifications before deployment.
About You
Minimum of 1 year of SQL experience.
IT Diploma / qualification.
Technical skills in MS SQL Server, MS SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL scripting/query writing.
Knowledge of systems integration and automation including APIs, schedulers, SFTP processes, and MS Office Suite.
Understanding of SDLC and Agile-Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
Basic planning, prioritisation, and tracking skills.
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with strong attention to detail.
Strong customer-service orientation, organizational skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
