A well-established organisation based in Denver Johannesburg is seeking a Junior Accounts Clerk for a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will support a Senior Accountant with day-to-day financial administration including transaction capturing reconciliations debtors and creditors invoice and payment processing reporting support and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a fully onsite role Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 offering R20 000 per month.

An established organisation based in Denver Johannesburg is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join its Finance team on a 3-month contract.
This role is suited to a junior finance professional who has practical exposure to accounting administration and is comfortable supporting a busy Senior Accountant with day-to-day transactional finance reconciliations reporting support and financial record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and process accounting transactions accurately and timeously.
• Assist with debtors and creditors administration.
• Prepare account and general ledger reconciliations.
• Verify invoices statements payments and supporting documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices payments and account queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records filing systems and supporting documentation.
• Maintain finance trackers and reconciliation schedules.
• Extract and consolidate financial information for reporting purposes.
• Prepare and update Excel spreadsheets.
• Assist with monthly accounting schedules and reports.
• Support the Senior Accountant with month-end administration and general finance tasks.
• Investigate and resolve basic account discrepancies.
• Ensure finance documentation is complete and audit-ready.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Finance Accounting or a related field.
• Approximately 13 years experience in an Accounts Clerk Finance Clerk or similar finance administration role.
• Practical exposure to debtors creditors reconciliations invoices and payments.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting or financial systems.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

They should be comfortable working in a busy finance environment managing routine financial administration independently and providing dependable support to a Senior Accountant.

Additional Information

• This is a 3-month contract position.
• The role is fully onsite in Denver Johannesburg.
• Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 17:00.
• Candidates who are immediately available or available at short notice will be advantageous.
• Salary: R20 000 per month.
