Food Technologist (CR786)

Duties & Responsibilities

Our client a well-established food manufacturing concern in Paarl is looking for a Product Developer to join their dynamic and creative team of Food Technologists.

This role is ideally suited to an organised detail-oriented and quality-focused individual who enjoys working within the New Product Development environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating and administrating the NPD process ensuring that projects are accurately documented progress is monitored timelines are maintained and all products comply with the required quality and food safety standards.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Coordinate and administer New Product Development (NPD) and product innovation process from project initiation through to launch.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date NPD documentation specifications records and project information.
• Ensure that all required documentation approvals samples specifications and quality checks are completed within the required timelines.
• Assist Food Safety team and other relevant departments with the administration and coordination of new products product enhancements and product redesigns.
• Monitor NPD project timelines outstanding actions and deliverables ensuring that projects remain on track.
• Ensure adherence to company quality standards food safety requirements procedures and regulatory requirements throughout the NPD process.
• Assist with maintaining and updating product specifications ingredient information packaging information and related technical documentation.
• Coordinate communication between Food Technology Quality Production Procurement Packaging Marketing and other relevant departments.
• Assist with range reviews product documentation and gap analysis.
• Ensure that product development information is accurately captured and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with the coordination and administration of product launches ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place.
• Conduct research into local and global food trends and consumer requirements to support the NPD and innovation process.
• Assist in assessing the feasibility and commercial potential of new and redesigned products.
• Identify and follow up on outstanding information approvals and quality requirements.
• Compile and maintain relevant reports trackers and project status updates.
• Provide general administrative and coordination support within the Food Technology/NPD function.

REQUIREMENTS

• A strong understanding of quality standards food safety and compliance within a food manufacturing environment will be advantageous
• Previous experience in Food Technology Quality Assurance NPD administration or a similar FMCG environment will be advantageous
• Energetic self-driven and highly organised
• Strong administration and coordination skills

WORK HOURS

Monday Friday: 08:00 17:00

Please note that December and January are high season no annual leave can be taken during this time of the year.

SALARY

R25 000 R30 000 per month negotiable depending on prior experience.
