Accountant

Description/Synopsis:

A well-established industrial group is seeking a “hands‑on” Accountant to join their finance team in Germiston. The successful candidate will take ownership of various accounting, reporting and analysis functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has completed their articles (SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA) and is looking to build on their post‑article experience in a fast‑paced, manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or related qualification
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Manufacturing or logistics sector exposure advantageous
• Someone who enjoys “getting their hands dirty” and being operationally involved in the business

Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day finance function, including cash management, billing, receivables, payables, banking and general financial administration.

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly financial analysis for the division
• Prepare and review income statements, journals, and reconciliations
• Perform monthly GL and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity and audit readiness
• Compile and monitor annual budgets, comparing actual results to forecasts
• Generate monthly management reports with financial insights for operational leadership
• Provide financial oversight and support across logistics, exports, and internal operational units
• Support inventory control and cost adjustment processes
• Assist with resolving supplier queries and asset register maintenance
• Liaise with auditors during year-end audit processes
