Financial Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Financial Manager to oversee the financial operations of our Particle Board Production Line. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic finance professional with strong manufacturing experience to play a key role in driving operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with production, procurement, and senior management to provide financial leadership, ensure effective cost management, and support strategic decision-making.

Location: Mpumalanga

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the particle board production line.
• Monitor and analyse production costs, including raw materials, utilities, maintenance, and overheads.
• Identify manufacturing cost variances and recommend cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Develop financial models to evaluate capital expenditure and operational improvement projects.

Experience

• 5 - 10 years' progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• At least 3 - 5 years' experience in a Financial Management role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the wood products industry, including particle board, MDF, or similar industrial manufacturing will be advantageous.
• Strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial reporting tools.
