Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and update detailed mechanical drawings using CAD software.
- Prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with engineering standards.
- Assist engineers and senior draughtsmen with design modifications and project documentation.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and aligned with project specifications.
- Maintain drawing registers and engineering documentation.
- Liaise with production teams to resolve drawing-related queries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
- Conduct drawing revisions and updates as required.
- Assist with the preparation of bill of materials (BOMs).
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Draughting, or a related field.
- 1-3 years' experience in a mechanical draughting environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Advantageous
- Experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal, machining, or structural design principles.
- Exposure to 3D modelling and design software.
- Understanding of engineering standards and drafting best practices.
