SAP BW Developer
SAP BW Developer position available in Johannesburg.
An established South African logistics business is looking for an experienced SAP BW Developer to join its technology team during a major S/4HANA transformation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real business problems through data. You will build and maintain BW/4HANA solutions that support reporting, analytics and operational decision-making across a complex logistics environment.
The business is already firmly invested in SAP, so this role requires someone who can contribute from day one. Strong BW/4HANA development experience is essential, together with practical experience working with S/4HANA as a source system.
Key technology: SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, data modelling, data integration, analytics and business intelligence.
Salary: Up to R800,000 per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain SAP BW/4HANA solutions that support business reporting and analytics requirements
- Build reliable data models, transformations and data flows across the SAP landscape
- Extract and integrate data from SAP S/4HANA and other relevant source systems
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics and operational requirements
- Translate business needs into practical technical solutions
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities to improve the quality, accessibility and usefulness of business data
- Investigate and resolve data, reporting and performance issues
- Support the ongoing S/4HANA migration and ensure BW/4HANA solutions remain aligned with the evolving SAP environment
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy, reliability and solution quality
- Adapt to changing business priorities within a fast-moving logistics environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the organisation’s analytics and business intelligence capability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
- An advanced qualification would be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP BW/4HANA development experience
- Strong practical knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA architecture, modelling and development
- Proven experience using SAP S/4HANA as a source system
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving ability
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Comfortable working directly with business and technical stakeholders
- Able to work effectively in an environment where priorities and requirements can change
- Experience within logistics, supply chain or another operationally complex environment would be advantageous
