Role Overview

As a Retail Sales Associate, you will support day-to-day store operations, assist customers with product selection, and help create a welcoming shopping environment. You will play an important role in achieving sales goals, maintaining strong product knowledge, and ensuring the store is presented to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner

• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or services

• Drive sales by promoting products, upselling where appropriate, and supporting team sales targets

• Process transactions accurately and efficiently

• Handle customer questions, concerns, and basic complaints with professionalism

• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment

• Restock shelves and ensure merchandise is displayed correctly

• Monitor stock levels and report low or missing inventory

• Stay informed about product features, promotions, and store policies

• Support opening and closing procedures as needed

• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver a consistent customer experience

• Sales targets are consistently supported through strong customer engagement

• The store remains well-presented, stocked, and organized

• Transactions and daily operational tasks are completed accurately

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service, or a similar client-facing role

• Matric certificate

• NQF LEVEL 4

• AGE 18/29

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Confidence in engaging with customers and identifying their needs

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required

• Basic numeracy and comfort handling cash or point-of-sale systems

• Professional appearance and a customer-focused attitude

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

• Experience working toward sales targets or performance goals

• Familiarity with retail operations, merchandising, or stock control

• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and basic reporting

• Experience in promotional or brand-led sales environments
