Customer Order Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full end-to-end customer order process, from order receipt through to delivery.
• Capture and process customer orders accurately on the company's ERP system.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Warehouse and Logistics to ensure orders are fulfilled within required timelines.
• Check stock availability and proactively identify potential shortages or delays.
• Monitor production and dispatch schedules and follow up where required.
• Track orders and deliveries to ensure customers receive their goods complete and on time.
• Communicate with customers regarding order status, delivery dates, delays and any potential challenges.
• Handle returns, discrepancies and order-related queries efficiently.
• Build strong working relationships with both customers and internal teams.
• Manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Identify problems, take action and see things through to resolution.
• Take ownership of the customer experience and ensure that commitments made to customers are followed through.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, efficient and takes ownership.

Ideally, you will come from a smaller organisation where you have been hands-on and closely involved in the business. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves, get stuck in and do a bit of everything to get the job done.

You will ideally be:

• Highly computer literate and comfortable working on business systems.
• Experienced with an ERP, MRP or similar order management system.
• Strong in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Accurate and detail-oriented, particularly when capturing and processing orders.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Confident communicating with customers and internal teams.
• A proactive problem solver who does not wait to be told what to do.
• Comfortable working closely with Production, Warehouse and Logistics.
• Customer-focused and committed to delivering on promises.
• Someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in and make things happen

Experience & Requirements

• Matric is essential.
• Previous experience in customer order processing, customer service, order management or supply chain coordination.
• Proven experience working with an ERP or similar business system.
• Strong computer and administrative skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience within Manufacturing, Distribution, FMCG or Supply Chain will be advantageous.
• Experience working in a smaller, hands-on business environment will be highly advantageou
