Job: Junior Developer

The Junior Developer at GroupM will play a key supporting role in the development of applications, working closely with senior developers to execute tasks according to client specifications. This position provides a unique opportunity for an intern to gain hands-on experience in application development, from coding and testing to troubleshooting and process improvements. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, the Junior Developer will contribute to both the technical and administrative aspects of application projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed to high standards and within set deadlines.

Responsibilities

• The Junior Developer will assist in building applications that align with the client’s brief, ensuring that the work meets the required quality standards
• Progress will be regularly communicated to the line manager, project manager, or campaign manager, and any concerns or issues related to development will be raised promptly
• A key responsibility will be to perform functional testing on the code written, identifying bugs or issues and resolving them as necessary
• In addition to development, the Junior Developer will manage task and ticket queues, ensuring that all records are up-to-date
• Documentation of code will be maintained meticulously, and they will also contribute to the maintenance of the Yonder Media Wiki, keeping details of projects, clients, and technologies current

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate for this role is currently studying towards a qualification in development or a related field, with some exposure to open-source technologies, particularly PHP
• Experience with mobile technology or systems is beneficial, as is familiarity with database development and maintenance, specifically MySQL
• Candidates must be deadline-driven, highly detail-oriented, and possess a customer-focused mindset
• Strong time management skills and basic design capabilities are essential for balancing multiple tasks
• Accountability, creativity, and a proactive approach to solving problems will set the candidate apart
