Trails Guide

A luxury Big 5 safari lodge in Madikwe is seeking an experienced and professional Trails Guide to join their team.
The successful candidate will conduct game drives and bush walks while maintaining excellent relationships between trackers, guides, guests and lodge staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years' guiding experience
- FGASA Trails Guide – NQF2/NQF4
- FGASA Nature Site Guide – NQF4
- Viewing Potentially Dangerous Animals (VPDA)
- FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)
- Valid PDP
- First Aid, preferably Wilderness orientated
- Department of Tourism registered (DEDECT) for Madikwe
- SAPS Firearm Competency – SASSETA 117705 / 119651 / 123519 or firearm licence
- CATHSSETA certified
- Strong guest relations and communication skills
- Professional, confident and safety conscious
- Comfortable conducting bush walks and working with trackers
- Flexible and willing to assist with lodge operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct morning and afternoon game drives
- Conduct guided bush walks according to NWPTB regulations
- Provide wake-up calls and host guests for morning coffee
- Host guests during high tea
- Conduct guest check-ins and check-outs
- Host guests during dinner and boma evenings
- Conduct kiddies activities for children under 10
- Remove unwanted creatures from guest rooms when required
- Safely remove snakes from public areas and suites
- Conduct airstrip clearing, pick-ups and drop-offs according to Federal Air protocol
- Maintain strong communication between guides, trackers and lodge staff
- Assist with maintenance when required
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and professional guiding standards
PACKAGE:
- Level 1 (NQF2): R15,400 per month
- Level 2 (NQF4): R15,900 per month
- Level 3 (NQF6): R16,400 per month
- R320 per bush walk
- Medical Aid contribution of R1,478.35 after 3 months
