Overview:
An experienced electrician with strong fault-finding ability and experience in maintaining low-voltage (high amp), high-demand industrial equipment in a production environment, ensuring the reliability of plant equipment and minimising production downtime.
Duties:
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain electrical infrastructure including power distribution systems, generators, and control panels as well as boilers.
• Inspect and maintain three-phase electrical systems, motors, soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Conduct diagnostics using testing equipment
• Support electrical installations, upgrades, and machine modifications.
• Liaise with approved suppliers to obtain quotations and coordinate repairs when required.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Assist with production changeovers and plant maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Matric or equivalent Certificate
• NQF Level 4 Electrical Qualification
• Trade Tested Electrician
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience working with industrial machinery and high-demand electrical systems
• Experience with three-phase electrical systems, motor control systems, VFDs, and soft starters
• PLC exposure or automation experience will be advantageous
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns in a production environment
Remuneration:
Negotiable around R400k plus benefits
