What you will need:
- A relevant Diploma or equivalent practical experience.
- Approximately 1 to 3 years experience in one or more of the following:
- Master data maintenance or listing.
- Product or catalogue management.
- Data entry, validation or data control.
- Retail or FMCG operations.
- Supplier or product-information administration.
- Exposure to an MDM, ERP or catalogue-management system, such as SAP or a similar platform.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- An understanding of product master-data attributes and classification.
- Basic knowledge of GTIN or GS1 principles would be beneficial.
- Basic SQL or data-query skills would be advantageous.
- Exposure to data-submission methods such as templates, EDI or APIs would be useful.
- GS1, master-data management or data-governance training would be an added advantage.
What you will be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining master data:
- Create new product and business-partner records.
- Process amendments, updates and record retirements.
- Apply the correct naming conventions, classifications and metadata standards.
- Ensure records are complete and ready for publication across downstream systems.
Validating information and maintaining data quality:
- Check product and supplier information against defined business rules and processes.
- Verify critical attributes such as GTINs, dimensions, pricing, tax information and regulatory fields.
- Identify incorrect, incomplete or inconsistent information.
- Correct routine errors and escalate more complex exceptions when required.
- Help reduce rework and downstream system errors caused by inaccurate listings.
Managing supporting documentation:
- Ensure product images, specifications, safety or data sheets and supplier documentation are attached correctly.
- Maintain accurate document versions and audit trails.
- Follow established approval and change-control processes.
Managing requests and priorities:
- Monitor and manage incoming listing and amendment requests.
- Prioritise work according to agreed service levels and commercial urgency.
- Respond quickly during promotions, new product launches and other peak periods.
- Ensure listings and product hierarchies are ready ahead of scheduled go-live dates.
Working with stakeholders and suppliers:
- Liaise with internal teams, category owners and suppliers to obtain or clarify information.
- Follow up on missing product, packaging, label or supplier data.
- Resolve queries professionally and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
- Work closely with commercial, supply chain, e-commerce, data and systems teams.
Supporting governance and continuous improvement:
- Follow master-data policies, SOPs, approval workflows and governance requirements.
- Maintain a clear audit trail of record changes.
- Record recurring data issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Recommend practical improvements to processes, controls or data rules.
- Assist with quick-reference guides, process documentation and team knowledge sharing.

- Reduction in corrections and rework.
