JD Edwards Architect SAP / ERP Integration (6 Months Contract) Location Johannesburg/ Cape Town Job Type Contract Full time Hours-Hybrid Job Description Our client is seeking for an experienced JD Edwards Architect with strong SAP and enterprise integration exposure to provide technical and architectural leadership across the organisations ERP landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and maintaining the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne architecture, ensuring effective integration with SAP and other enterprise platforms, and driving scalable, secure and sustainable ERP solutions. Key Responsibilities - Provide technical and solution architecture leadership for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment. - Define and maintain the JDE target architecture, technology roadmap and integration strategy. - Analyse existing ERP architecture and identify opportunities for modernisation, optimisation and simplification. - Design and oversee integrations between JD Edwards, SAP and other enterprise applications. - Ensure alignment between JDE architecture and broader Enterprise / Solution Architecture principles. - Design and govern API, web-service and middleware-based integrations. - Provide architectural guidance on JDE Orchestrator, AIS, BSSV, REST and SOAP integrations. - Ensure appropriate integration patterns, security, performance and scalability. - Work closely with business stakeholders, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, developers, infrastructure teams and vendors. - Provide technical direction during major ERP changes, upgrades, migrations and integration initiatives. - Review technical designs and ensure adherence to architecture and development standards. - Identify technical risks, dependencies and architectural constraints and provide mitigation strategies. - Support impact assessments for changes affecting JDE, SAP and integrated systems. - Provide guidance on data flows, interfaces and system dependencies across the ERP landscape. - Ensure solutions comply with clients governance, security, risk and technology standards. - Provide technical leadership to development and integration teams. - Support incident and problem management where architectural intervention is required. Required Technical Skills JD Edwards - JD Edwards EnterpriseOne / JDE E1 - JDE architecture and technical design - JDE 9.x / 9.2 advantageous - JDE Finance and/or Procurement modules - JDE integrations - JDE Orchestrator - AIS Application Interface Services - BSSV Business Services Server - JDE web services - JDE environments and deployment - JDE database / SQL SAP - Strong exposure to SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA - Understanding of SAP architecture and integration patterns - SAP-to-JDE integration experience advantageous - Knowledge of SAP APIs, interfaces and data exchange - SAP middleware / integration technologies advantageous Integration & Architecture - REST APIs - SOAP / Web Services - API architecture - Middleware / Enterprise Integration - Event-driven integration advantageous - Enterprise Application Integration - Data integration and data flows - Solution Architecture - Enterprise Architecture - Cloud integration exposure advantageous Qualifications - Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field. - Relevant JDE, SAP or Enterprise Architecture certifications would be advantageous. - TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification advantageous. Experience - 8+ years' experience in enterprise technology, ERP or application architecture. - 5+ years' experience working with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. - Proven experience operating as a JDE Architect / Solution Architect / Technical Architect. - Demonstrated experience designing complex ERP integrations. - Experience integrating JDE with SAP and/or other enterprise platforms. - Experience within financial services, insurance or banking would be highly advantageous. - Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments. - Strong experience engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders.
