SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Junior Sales Engineer for a permanent vacancy based in Woodmead, Gauteng
POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Engineering qualification, preferably in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' sales/business development experience, ideally in the water/wastewater industry.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, chemicals, consumables, and spares.
- Established network within industrial, consultant, and supplier markets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Key Competencies
- Strong business development and sales skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Commercial understanding of pricing, contracts, and margins.
- Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
- Focus on growing both new and existing customer accounts.
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Monitor client portals for RFQs and tender opportunities.
- Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and tenders.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through client visits, networking, and cold calling.
- Manage the sales pipeline from prospecting to contract award.
- Track and report on sales activities and pipeline performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and SHEQ requirements.
