We're looking for a Senior Draughtsman who understands that exceptional drafting is more than producing drawings. It's about transforming engineering concepts into practical, buildable solutions that perform in some of the world's toughest operating environments.
This opportunity is with a specialist engineering consultancy delivering projects across the mining and mineral processing sector. Their work spans materials handling systems, process plants, structural steelwork, mechanical equipment, and brownfield and greenfield project environments.

POSITION INFO:

What You'll Be Doing

• Producing detailed mechanical, structural, and plant layout drawings for mining and mineral processing projects.
• Developing General Arrangements, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing detail drawings.
• Creating and maintaining accurate 3D models and engineering documentation.
• Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver practical and efficient design solutions.
• Reviewing drawings and ensuring compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
• Managing drawing revisions and maintaining document control throughout project lifecycles.
• Providing technical support during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.
• Mentoring junior draughting personnel and contributing to continuous improvement within the design team.

What We're Looking For

• National Diploma or relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of draughting experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or materials handling environments.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, or similar.
• Strong understanding of structural steelwork, mechanical equipment, piping systems, conveyors, chutes, tanks, and process plant layouts.
• Experience producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings for industrial projects.
• A self-starter capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
