Job description
- Interpret shop plans, technical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to plan daily preparation, priming, spraying and finishing requirements. - Plan and coordinate spray-shop production, including sanding, preparation, priming, spraying and curing. - Lead and allocate work to spray painters and preparation teams to meet production and delivery deadlines. - Ensure correct paint mixing ratios, catalisation and application procedures are followed. - Set up and monitor spray guns, pressure pots and air-line regulators for consistent finishing quality. - Identify and troubleshoot defects such as orange peel, runs, fisheyes, blushing and slow curing. - Conduct final quality inspections and ensure finished products meet required standards before dispatch. - Monitor curing periods and ensure products are only released once fully cured and approved. - Calculate and monitor paint, solvent and sanding material requirements, while controlling waste. - Work closely with Joinery, Metal, Procurement and Production teams to maintain workflow and prevent delays. - Maintain accurate production updates and records on Navision / ERP systems where applicable. - Implement and maintain SOPs to improve finishing quality and production efficiency
