Investment Accountant

WE'RE HIRING: INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT Cape Town, Western Cape Salary: Market Related We are currently recruiting an experienced Investment Support Officer/Investment Accountant to join a well-established financial services business within its Operations function. This is a back-office investment support role responsible for supporting client teams across the business and ensuring accurate, consistent and high-quality execution of investment-related transactions, reconciliations and accounting activities. Key Responsibilities -Capture non-automated investment transactions on internal database systems -Maintain line-by-line investment reporting and investment accounting records -Process accounting and journal entries relating to conversions, capital calls and distributions -Reconcile investment positions and investigate reconciliation breaks -Set up securities and pricing for both quoted and unquoted investments -Perform NAV calculations for Private Equity investments -Ensure investment instructions and accounting activities are completed accurately and within required deadlines -Liaise with internal teams, financial institutions, asset managers and other external service providers What We're Looking For Relevant degree or higher diploma Ideally 5–8 years' experience within the financial services / investment industry Strong Investment Accounting knowledge Sound understanding of Double Entry Bookkeeping Experience with Multi-Currency Accounting Strong reconciliation and investment transaction experience Advanced attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure Strong Excel and general financial systems skills -Experience or knowledge of Offshore Trusts and Companies, including the relationship between trusts, companies, trustees and beneficiaries, would be advantageous. -A STEP qualification would also be beneficial, but is not essential. This opportunity would suit someone with strong technical investment operations experience who enjoys working in a detailed, deadline-driven environment supporting sophisticated investment structures and client portfolios.
