Credit Controller – FMCG/ Manufacturing | SAP S/4HANA (essential)

Role profile:
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage customer collections, reconciliations and credit exposure. The successful candidate will have strong SAP S/4HANA and Excel skills, excellent numerical and administrative ability, and a proven track record in credit control. The role will suit someone who is proactive, detail-oriented and confident working with both customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the timely collection of customer accounts in accordance with approved credit terms.
• Perform accurate monthly debtor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate customer master data, credit information, payment terms, collection notes and account activity on SAP.
• Monitor customer payment behaviour, credit exposure and credit limits, escalating potential risks where required.
• Review accounts exceeding approved credit limits and recommend appropriate action in line with company policy.
• Ensure customer payments are allocated accurately and timeously.
• Identify potential bad debts at an early stage and implement appropriate collection and escalation strategies.
• Identify opportunities to improve credit-control processes, reporting, automation and SAP utilisation.
• Coordinate the preparation and collection of customer payments.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required by management.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

• Matric Certificate, preferably with Mathematics and/or Accounting.
• A qualification in Credit Control/Management would be advantageous.
• SAP S/4HANA knowledge is essential.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Credit Control position ideally from FMCG and or Manufacturing (highly advantageous and preferred)
• Proven track record in credit control and collections.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong administrative capability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
