About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and efficient Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll operations in Nelspruit . This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all employee payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, while ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of payroll systems and South African labor law, and excellent organizational skills to manage this critical function.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
- Calculate and ensure correct deductions for PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other statutory contributions.
- Manage employee benefits administration, including medical aid and pension fund contributions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and other relevant legislation.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare relevant reports for management and finance.
- Address and resolve employee queries regarding payroll and benefits promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Payroll Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or Payroll Administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation, tax laws (PAYE), and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., VIP Payroll, Sage) and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational abilities for work in Nelspruit .
