About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mining Engineer to join their operational team in the challenging yet rewarding environment of George . You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources, contributing directly to the success of the mine. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and material handling.
- Develop and implement mine designs and production plans to meet targets efficiently and safely.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of mining crews and equipment operators.
- Utilize mine planning software for design, simulation, and production tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in open-pit or underground mining operations.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency with mine planning and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Surpac).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments, adapting to hybrid work demands.
