Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Information Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team based in Nelspruit. This role involves continuous monitoring of security systems, identifying potential threats, and responding to security incidents to protect the organization's valuable data and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in maintaining a strong security posture through vigilant analysis and effective incident management, working closely with the on-site IT department to ensure robust protection against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats and unauthorized access.
• Investigate and analyze security incidents, determining scope and impact, and initiating response actions.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and work with relevant teams to address findings.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Maintain documentation related to security incidents, configurations, and processes.
• Support security awareness training programs and provide guidance to end-users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in information security or IT operations with a security focus.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common cybersecurity threats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for an on-site environment.
