About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to ensure the optimal functioning and upkeep of mechanical systems and equipment at their facilities in Pretoria . This role is crucial for minimizing downtime, enhancing operational efficiency, and upholding safety standards across all plant operations. You will be responsible for planning and executing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance plans for all mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical failures, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Oversee maintenance activities, including managing external contractors and ensuring work quality.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.
• Proven experience with various types of industrial machinery and systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and predictive maintenance technologies.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
