Farm Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and hands-on Farm Operations Supervisor to lead their team in Klerksdorp, North West . This role is essential for the smooth and efficient execution of daily farming activities, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and productively. You will be responsible for overseeing crop planting, cultivation, and harvesting, as well as managing farm equipment and supporting the farm manager in strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with practical experience in agricultural operations and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of farm workers involved in planting, cultivation, and harvesting.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all farm machinery and equipment.
• Monitor crop progress, identify issues such as pests or diseases, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the implementation of irrigation schedules and fertilization plans.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, seeds, fertilizers, and other essential farm inputs.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace regulations.
• Report on daily operations, productivity, and any challenges encountered to the farm manager.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Agriculture or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in an agricultural setting.
• Strong knowledge of crop production techniques and farming practices relevant to the region.
• Hands-on experience with farm machinery operation and basic maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a team of farmhands.
• Physical fitness and willingness to perform manual tasks as required.
