Structural Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Structural Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Bloemfontein. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and simulations (FEA) on mechanical components and assemblies to assess strength, stiffness, and fatigue life.
• Develop and refine designs for mechanical structures to meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
• Create comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports detailing structural integrity.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate structural requirements into overall system designs.
• Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations for structural failures, proposing corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, codes, and standards related to structural mechanics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on structural analysis.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in structural mechanical design and analysis.
• Expertise in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials , solid mechanics, and fatigue analysis.
• Familiarity with material properties and selection for structural applications.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail for ensuring structural integrity in Bloemfontein.
