Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled and hands-on Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain and repair their fleet of essential ground vehicles and equipment in Klerksdorp . This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient turnaround of aircraft. You will be responsible for performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of GSE, including tugs, loaders, belt loaders, and air conditioning units. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and operational reliability in a demanding airport environment, ensuring all equipment meets stringent standards for aviation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on GSE.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure all equipment operates within regulatory and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimize operational downtime.
• Operate GSE safely and effectively as required for testing and validation purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or a similar mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience working in an airport or aviation environment is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain other necessary airport permits.
• Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various weather conditions in Klerksdorp .
