Banqueting and Events Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and client-focused Banqueting and Events Manager to oversee all events at a prestigious venue in Durban . This role involves managing a wide range of events, from corporate functions and conferences to weddings and social gatherings. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless execution from initial planning stages through to the event's conclusion, delivering memorable experiences. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating successful events.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and execution of all banquets and special events held at the venue.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing professional guidance and support throughout the event planning process.
• Develop detailed event proposals, timelines, and budgets, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including catering, AV, and venue staff, to ensure flawless event delivery.
• Oversee on-site event setup, management, and breakdown, ensuring adherence to client requirements and venue standards.
• Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and identify areas for service improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management, banqueting, or a related role within the hospitality industry.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, with exceptional organizational skills.
• Excellent client management and communication abilities.
• Experience with event planning software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field is advantageous.
