About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Maintenance Technician specializing in avionics to join their team in George . This critical role involves the hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic systems on various aircraft. You will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and optimal performance of our client's fleet. Working within a dedicated maintenance facility, you will collaborate with a team of experienced aviation professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence in the beautiful Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and scheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems, including navigation, communication, autopilot, and flight control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic faults, utilizing test equipment and technical manuals.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade avionics equipment as required by engineering or regulatory directives.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with pilots and other maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft are ready for flight on schedule.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician with a focus on avionics.
  • Possession of relevant aviation maintenance certifications (e.g., CATSA license or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, wiring schematics, and electronic principles.
  • Proficiency with avionics test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
