Subsea Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Subsea Engineer to contribute to their offshore projects, based in or near Bloemfontein . This role focuses on the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea production systems and equipment. You will work within a highly technical team, collaborating on complex projects that push the boundaries of deepwater exploration and production. Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and specify subsea equipment, including christmas trees, manifolds, pipelines, and umbilical systems.
• Develop installation procedures and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Oversee and support subsea construction and commissioning activities, both offshore and onshore.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support for subsea production systems.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering disciplines, and suppliers to ensure project success.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all designs meet stringent oil and gas industry safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsea engineering, with a strong understanding of subsea hardware and operations.
• Proficiency in relevant subsea engineering software and design tools.
• Experience with pipeline design, flow assurance, and structural analysis.
• Knowledge of subsea control systems and hydraulic power units (HPUs).
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
