Industrial Engineer - Facilities & Layout Design
Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer with expertise in facilities and layout design to join their team in Mahikeng . This role is pivotal in optimizing the physical infrastructure and workflow of their operational sites to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity. You will be responsible for analyzing space utilization, designing optimal facility layouts, and implementing improvements that support lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate possesses strong spatial reasoning, proficiency in CAD and simulation tools, and a solid understanding of material flow and ergonomics in an industrial context. This hands‑on role requires close collaboration with operations, maintenance, and management teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current facility layouts and space utilization to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Design and optimize plant and facility layouts to enhance material flow, production efficiency, and workplace safety.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation tools to model and visualize proposed layouts.
- Develop material handling strategies and ergonomic solutions to improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, on layout and facility projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in facility layout design and industrial engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for 2D and 3D design.
- Experience with simulation software for analyzing material flow and production systems.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, ergonomics, and workplace safety principles.
