Application Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Application Security Specialist to join their growing technology team in East London . This role focuses on ensuring the security of software applications throughout their entire lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and maintenance. You will work closely with development teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement secure coding practices, and conduct security testing. This is a vital position for protecting our client's digital products and services in a key coastal economic hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Conduct static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST).
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on web and mobile applications.
• Provide guidance to development teams on secure coding practices and remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain security standards for application development.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging application security threats and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in application security , secure coding, or vulnerability management.
• Proficiency with security testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and their mitigation.
• Experience with secure coding principles and frameworks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with development teams.
