Remote Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Remote Financial Controller to lead their finance department from any location. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. As a fully remote position, you will leverage technology to manage a distributed team and ensure seamless financial operations. This is a critical opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to shape the financial strategy and integrity of a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and South African regulations.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is essential.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior finance role.
• Proven experience in managing remote teams and virtual financial operations.
• Deep understanding of South African accounting standards (IFRS) and tax laws.
• Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
