Commercial Contracts Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to join their legal department in Nelspruit. This role is central to overseeing the entire lifecycle of commercial contracts, from drafting and negotiation to execution and ongoing management. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and finance teams to ensure contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with company objectives. This position requires a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and excellent negotiation skills to safeguard the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, and partnership contracts.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks.
• Manage the contract review and approval process, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
• Oversee contract execution and ensure proper record-keeping.
• Monitor contract performance and identify potential issues or opportunities for renegotiation.

Requirements

• Legal background (e.g., admitted attorney or paralegal qualification) with a minimum of 4 years of experience focused on commercial contracts.
• Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and interpretation.
• Strong understanding of commercial law principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
