Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their innovative team in Pretoria . This role is crucial for building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our client's software development and deployment pipelines. You will be responsible for automating, streamlining, and improving the processes that allow their developers to build, test, and release software rapidly and reliably. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for automation, and possesses strong skills in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and system administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated application builds, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Implement and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to foster a DevOps culture and improve overall efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or system administration roles.
• Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their services.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and IaC tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
