About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Plantation Manager to oversee operations in the fertile region of Polokwane . This role is responsible for the effective management of agricultural plantations, focusing on maximizing crop yields, ensuring sustainable practices, and maintaining operational efficiency. You will lead a diverse team, manage resources, and implement advanced cultivation techniques to achieve production targets. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for plantation operations, including crop selection and rotation.
• Oversee all aspects of cultivation, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
• Manage the recruitment, training, and supervision of plantation staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
• Monitor crop health and performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize yields and quality.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable farming practices.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and maintain accurate operational records and reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in plantation management or large-scale agricultural operations.
• Proven expertise in managing specific crops relevant to the Limpopo region (e.g., citrus, maize, nuts).
• Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture, resource management, and environmental stewardship.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in agricultural planning software and data analysis tools.
