Fleet Supervisor - Field Operations

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on Fleet Supervisor to join their team, managing field operations and vehicle maintenance in the Polokwane area. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and safety of our transportation fleet, supporting our service delivery across Limpopo. You will be responsible for supervising drivers, coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fleet operations and a commitment to maintaining a high level of service and operational integrity, balancing on-site supervision with administrative duties in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of drivers, ensuring adherence to schedules, routes, and safe driving practices.
• Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for the company fleet.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and driver behavior, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure all fleet vehicles are operated in compliance with traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, mileage, and operational expenses.
• Respond to and manage roadside incidents or emergencies involving company vehicles.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet supervision or a related transportation role.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and fleet management best practices.
• Strong understanding of South African road safety regulations and commercial vehicle requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage drivers effectively.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and basic computer applications.
