Actuarial Analyst - Life Insurance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a bright and driven Actuarial Analyst to join their growing life insurance division in Klerksdorp . This role is central to pricing new products, managing reserves, and ensuring the financial soundness of the company's life insurance portfolio. You will work closely with various departments, including product development, finance, and risk management, to provide critical actuarial insights and support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pricing models for new life insurance products.
• Perform valuation of liabilities and manage reserving requirements according to regulatory standards.
• Analyze profitability and develop experience studies for mortality, morbidity, and persistency.
• Support the development and implementation of new actuarial software and methodologies.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the product development team to design competitive and profitable insurance solutions.

Requirements

• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., Actuarial Society of South Africa - ASSA).
• 2-4 years of experience in actuarial roles within the life insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of life insurance products, principles, and valuation techniques.
• Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex actuarial concepts.
