Chemical Plant Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Chemical Plant Manager to lead operations at their facility in East London . This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant production, safety, environmental compliance, and financial performance. You will lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to safety. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep operational knowledge of chemical manufacturing to drive success in East London .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the chemical plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve plant production, quality, cost, and safety objectives.
• Manage the plant budget, capital expenditure plans, and P&L responsibilities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the plant's management and operational teams.
• Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical plant operations management.
• Proven track record of successful leadership in managing complex chemical manufacturing facilities.
• Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM), environmental regulations, and quality systems.
• Demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing plant budgets.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for operations in East London .
