About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to join their dynamic installation and maintenance team in Johannesburg. This role is critical for ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of specialized equipment for a diverse client base across the Gauteng province. You will be the face of our client's service delivery, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining systems onsite. This is a hands‑on position for an individual who is adept at problem‑solving and committed to providing exceptional technical support, contributing to customer satisfaction and the company's reputation for reliability and expertise in the installation and maintenance sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain a variety of technical equipment and systems according to specifications.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions promptly.
• Respond to service calls and customer requests in a timely and professional manner, providing clear communication throughout the process.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used, maintaining accurate records in the company system.
• Collaborate with the internal technical support team to resolve complex problems and share knowledge.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar hands‑on technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems relevant to the equipment serviced.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and hand tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with the ability to travel frequently within the Johannesburg area.
• Technical qualification or certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
