Telecoms Network Implementation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Telecoms Network Implementation Engineer to join their dynamic team in Upington . This role is responsible for the successful deployment, configuration, and integration of new telecommunications network equipment and systems. You will work closely with planning and operations teams to ensure that network rollouts are executed efficiently and meet technical specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to contribute to the advancement of network infrastructure in the Northern Cape province, working on critical deployment projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test new network hardware and software components according to design specifications.
• Integrate new network elements into the existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and operation.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and maintenance on network devices and platforms.
• Develop and execute detailed implementation plans and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during the implementation phase, minimizing disruption.
• Document all implemented configurations, procedures, and network changes accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications network implementation or deployment.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP) and configuration management.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under project deadlines.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies is beneficial for coordinating activities in Upington .
