Restaurant General Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and charismatic Restaurant General Manager to lead their flagship establishment in Durban . You will be responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, including profitability, operational efficiency, staff management, and guest satisfaction. This is a hands-on role requiring a leader who can inspire their team, maintain impeccable service standards, and manage all aspects of a busy dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the food and beverage industry, exceptional leadership qualities, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience that keeps customers returning.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house management.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and control costs.
• Recruit, train, motivate, and manage restaurant staff, fostering a positive team culture.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints effectively to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-volume establishment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems, inventory management, and P&L statements.
• Passion for food, beverage, and exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Relevant qualifications in hospitality management or culinary arts are a plus.
