Remote Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Remote Network Administrator to manage and maintain their robust IT infrastructure entirely remotely. This position is vital for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our client's network operations. You will be responsible for network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, supporting a distributed workforce. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical problem-solver with extensive experience in network management and a proven ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment. This is a key role for driving network excellence from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and efficiency.
• Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
• Perform regular network maintenance , including software updates, patch management, and system backups.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software problems for end-users and servers.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations and topology diagrams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar network engineering role, with a strong background in remote management.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and network operating systems.
• Experience with cloud networking environments and virtualisation technologies.
• Excellent understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
