Credit Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a tenacious and customer-focused Credit Controller to manage outstanding debts and ensure timely payments from clients in Upington . This role is vital for maintaining healthy cash flow and minimizing bad debt for the organization. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, negotiating payment plans, and implementing credit control procedures effectively. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of credit management principles within the Northern Cape business community.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Contact customers via phone and email to arrange for payment of overdue accounts.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer communications.
• Identify and escape potential bad debt issues to management.
• Liaise with the sales and finance departments to resolve account queries.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar collections role.
• Strong understanding of credit control principles and debt collection techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and meet collection targets.
