About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Quality Control Chemist to conduct analytical testing of pharmaceutical materials and products in Upington, Northern Cape . You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy through rigorous laboratory analysis. This role requires a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and experience with various laboratory techniques and instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and company quality policies. You will contribute to the overall quality assurance framework, working within a dedicated laboratory team to uphold product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, and spectroscopy.
- Prepare samples for analysis and ensure the proper functioning and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Accurately record and document all testing results in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and GMP.
- Develop and validate new analytical methods as required.
- Investigate any out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist in determining root causes.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience (1-2 years) as a Quality Control Chemist or Analyst in a pharmaceutical setting.
- Proficiency in using analytical instruments like HPLC, GC , and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
- Understanding of GMP guidelines and pharmacopeial standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment located in Upington .
