Senior Well Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Well Operations Engineer to join their team, offering a flexible remote work arrangement to support operations near Mahikeng . This position is crucial for overseeing and optimizing the execution of drilling, completion, and intervention operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all well operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget, while adhering to the highest industry standards. The ideal candidate possesses extensive practical experience in managing complex well programs, mitigating risks, and applying innovative solutions to operational challenges in the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise drilling, completion, and workover operations.
• Develop detailed well program documentation, including procedures and contingency plans.
• Manage service providers, equipment, and logistics to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct daily operational reviews, track progress, and manage costs effectively.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
• Perform post-operation analysis and implement lessons learned to improve future performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in well operations engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, casing design, and completion technologies.
• Familiarity with well control principles and emergency response procedures.
• Experience in risk assessment and management for well operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for remote management.
