Community Engagement Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and personable Community Engagement Officer to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is dedicated to building strong relationships between the organization and the local community, fostering positive interactions and ensuring community needs are understood and addressed. You will be responsible for planning and executing outreach activities, managing communication channels, and representing the organization at community events. This hybrid position requires a blend of fieldwork and office-based duties, contributing to community development in the Mpumalanga region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, events, and outreach programs.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for community members and local organizations.
• Gather feedback from the community to inform organizational planning and service delivery.
• Develop communication materials, including newsletters and social media content, to inform the community.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with diverse community stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in community development, public relations, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse community groups effectively.
• Strong organizational and event planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and basic content creation.
• Understanding of local community dynamics and issues in Nelspruit and surrounding areas.
