Logistics and Delivery Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics and Delivery Supervisor to oversee their transport operations in East London . This leadership role involves managing a team of drivers, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods throughout the Eastern Cape region. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in logistics management. You will be crucial in maintaining operational efficiency, driving performance, and upholding the company's commitment to exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of delivery drivers, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to transport operations.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all fleet vehicles are in good working condition.
• Manage inventory levels at the local distribution point and coordinate inbound/outbound logistics.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related issues, resolving problems effectively.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver's license with a PDP.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of the East London and surrounding Eastern Cape areas.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and basic computer applications.
