VoIP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished VoIP Engineer to join their fully remote technical team. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and support of our Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure. You will ensure the high availability, scalability, and security of our voice communication systems, which are critical for our business operations. This role demands a deep understanding of VoIP protocols, unified communications platforms, and network convergence. As a key member of our remote engineering department, you will contribute to innovative solutions that enhance communication efficiency and customer experience across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VoIP systems, including PBX, gateways, and SIP trunking.
• Configure and manage unified communications platforms and collaboration tools.
• Monitor VoIP network performance, troubleshoot call quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure the security of VoIP infrastructure against unauthorized access and threats.
• Collaborate with network and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of voice services.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with VoIP technologies and protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP).
• Proficiency with leading VoIP platforms (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk).
• Strong understanding of IP networking, QoS, and network security principles.
• Experience with unified communications and contact center solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a remote team environment.
