About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join their advanced technical team in Stellenbosch . This role is central to the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of mobile network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and high-quality service delivery. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to enhance network performance and capacity. The ideal candidate has a strong theoretical foundation in wireless communication and practical experience in managing complex RAN environments, contributing to the future of mobile networks in the Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and configure RAN elements, including base stations and antennas.
• Monitor network performance, analyze key metrics, and implement optimization strategies to improve coverage and capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex RAN issues, minimizing service disruption.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for new RAN deployments.
• Collaborate with planning and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of RAN components.
• Stay abreast of the latest RAN technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Radio Access Network engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of 4G/LTE and 5G RAN technologies and protocols.
• Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
• Proficiency in using network monitoring and analysis software.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities within a Stellenbosch -based operational context.
