Civil Engineer - Geotechnical Specialization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering to join their dynamic team in Pretoria . You will be responsible for investigating subsurface conditions and designing foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures for a variety of infrastructure and building projects. This role requires a meticulous approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of soil mechanics and rock mechanics. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing of soil and rock.
• Perform detailed geotechnical analysis for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, recommendations, and design drawings.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on geotechnical aspects of projects.
• Oversee construction activities related to geotechnical elements to ensure quality and compliance.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for analysis and design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Experience with laboratory testing procedures and interpretation of results.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex geological conditions.
